Easter Ride

For a second year in a row I've spent Easter on the back of a horse. Not a bad little tradition to start.

Hopefully I can create a tradition out of something else I did this morning, watching to sun rise from the top of a beautiful mountain.

Bosco Turns Four

He's been there for me (for more things than most humans) since he was 10 weeks old.

Today the maroon collared puppy from the D litter turned 4 years old and you know we celebrated in style.

Run for the Luck of It

I don't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It's probably one of my least favorite holidays. Come to think of it, there aren't many holidays I celebrate in the spring, which just adds to my dislike of the season in general. Anywho, despite not really celebrating the holiday, there is a 5k in Missoula held the Saturday before St. Patty's day every year that I do enjoy.
It's a fast, flat course that takes you from downtown to the Northside & back only to be greeted by an Irish feast of stew, soda bread,  & beer. I beat my own PR for a 5k today (something I've been slowly working on all winter), but my knees are still giving me a lot of grief while running. Perhaps it's time to seek out another sport? *insert sad face here*

Happy St. Patrick's Day to those of you out celebrating! I will be working a string of 6 day work weeks again soon & am taking advantage of the cold & wet weather outside today to lay around w/ Bosco dog & do something we don't do often, be lazy & do nothing!

Biking the Bitterroot

I am female.
Fe = Iron
Male = Man

Therefore, I am Iron Man.

Debbie was finishing up a challenge to do a full IronMan Triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run) in a weeks time. On the last day myself & our friend Brett decided to join her on the finishing touches aka 34 miles of biking and 3 miles of running.

There is an amazing bike trail that follows highway 93 from Lolo to Hamilton with decadent views of the Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains.
We chose a portion of this trail to conquer the mileage quickly in a day & despite the cold ending because of our late start (it was my Saturday shift at work, so completely my fault for our not hitting the trail til after 2pm), it was a damn good day to be out on that trail.

Day Dreamin

Winter can be entertaining, but I miss warmer days... Here's to day dreams of the upcoming hiking season & possibly my last in Big Sky Country.
