Classes are going great! We start on the utility course tomorrow. Skyler is breezing right thru her commands & already has multiple commands on her belt already after only a week. We've still got 2 more commands we're polishing up & then only 2 more to learn for us & then she's thru w/ basic obedience.

First Day of School

Today Skyler & I started taking classes at National K9 Learning Center. It is tradition in out family to take a photo in front of the door w/ our backpacks on on the first day of school in our family. So Skyler & I both donned out packs & smiled pretty before our training.

I was pleasantly surprised to return home from my first day of classes to a beautiful bouquet of flower & a balloon w/ a card w/ my name on it sitting on the kitchen table. Thanks for the flowers Christopher :-)

It's Frozen Over People

For anyone that knows me knows my true feelings on small children & babies. Well, for everyone that knows me knows then that this is blog worthy: today I babysat my 22 month old niece for an entire day, completely by myself. AND I even changed a diaper.

Okay, now pick yourselves up off the floor. It's hard to take in and believe I know, but it's true. hah hah hah. I thought that was blog worthy.

Today's post includes a picture of Emily playing in the pool today which was our favorite activity of the day.

Engagement Photos

2 Saturdays ago I had the privileged of taking my sister and her fiance's engagement photos for their wedding announcements & save the dates. Thought I'd like to share some of the photographs that I've finished editing.

Meet Skyler

After saying goodbye to Christopher & the rest of Missoula I took off in my packed car for the two day drive back to PA. I don't recommend doing thing drive by yourself in two days. The drive took me through 9 states, 5 of which I now get to mark off my atlas. On my last night I stayed w/ TJ & his family in upstate Ohio. Finally the day came when I got to pick up my new little girl. On May 16th I rolled into West Alexander & picked up my new little girl, Skyler. She's an 11 month old blue merle bitch that will be going through the National K-9 program w/ me. I'm very excited to have her in my life & it's been awesome having a dog at my side once again. She was kept by the breeder as a show prospect but wasn't working out in the show ring. She is comfortable making the switch from kennel dog to house pet. Just wanted to share some pictures w/ everyone. There will be plenty more to come so get used to seeing her face. :-) Especially once we return to Montana as I have high hopes for this girl & I to get our certifications in Animal Assisted Therapy once we return home at the end of the summer. Keep us in your thoughts w/ this as I know nothing about it other than the small amount of research I have begun & if you have any information you would like to share w/ us about it, please do! We're both eager to learn.

p.s. I still haven't found my cord yet but as I spent all of last Saturday taking photos for my sister & her fiance for their engagement she took the liberty of buying a memory card reader for me so I can finally start editing her photos... now all I need is for Christopher to hand over some of his skills!

No Great Photos This Time

So I don't have any new photos to add for this post since I can't find the cord to connect my camera to the computer, they're all still stuck on my camera. I'm back in Ohio for the summer living w/ in my brother's house w/ his family & my sister Kristen. I've been working back at the Pet Palace for the past few weeks & will be starting classes at the National K-9 Training Institute on June 16th. Will get some pictures up once I find the cord for my computer! Just wanted to give a quick update. Miss you Missoula. *muah*
