Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Byers

Kristen & Jose tied the knot today! May 30th is a special day in our family as it was also what would of been my grandparents 56th wedding anniversary. The wedding was by far the most true & honest ceremony I've ever been to. Congrats Kristen & Jose! I'm happy to call Jose & his sons part of my family now.

8 Weeks

Boscarelli is 8 weeks old and will be coming home to me in just 2 more weeks! He has his ears done this week & must wait till his stitches come out before he can fly, hence why I am not getting him at exactly 8 weeks old.

Into the Wild

Just got back from an overnight camping/climbing trip w/ Christopher, Cameron, & Kelly (she made it safe and sound to Montana & will be living w/ me for the rest of the year!!!). I finally got to use the new Kelty backpack that Chris got me for Christmas. Everyone had their own packs, including the dogs. Although the night was cold enough to leave behind a layer of frost, the trip overall was a good time to skip out on the city lights and enter into the wild for a real way to spend a night out w/ good friends, the pups, a campfire, and nothing over your head but tall timbers and billions of stars.

Van Buren

A few weeks ago, while driving down Van Buren, Christopher, Cameron, & I picked up an unusual hitch hiker. After spending the evening knocking on doors in the neighborhood to see if we could find the little ferrets owners. With no luck we took her in & posted signs around the Rattlesnake. Still with no luck, we decided it was time to take the little girl to the vets and get her checked up. I learned a lot about her in that little check up, she is an older female originally from upstate New York. So in my house of craziness now resides Van Buren, our little runaway ferret.

6 Weeks

The pups are not 6 weeks old. Yesterday I picked out which of the puppies was to be Boscarelli so from here on out, I will no longer be posting pictures of all the puppies every week. Since I am having his ears cropped by the breeder's vet, he cannot fly until her is approx. 10 weeks old and will therefore not be arriving in Missoula till June 7th. Isn't he adorable?

Ladies and Gentleman, it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the official Boscarelli, previously known as the burgundy puppy. He will be in Missoula on June 7th and then be prepared for the pictures to flow like water.

Bear Drive

Last week the groomers where I work were telling me stories of what they refer to as Bear Drives. Bear Drives are several hour drives that they take into the wilderness of the Flathead Indian Reservation, which is just north of Missoula. They've been doing these for years and have perfected a route in the mountains in which they almost always see at least one bear. Lucky for us, we saw a grouse, some deer, elk, and 2 bear - 1 black bear & 1 cinnamon bear. The black bear was too quick to take a picture of, but the little cinnamon bear was quite a character to take pictures of.
What a bear claw does to a tree.

The puppies are yet another week older. They are growing right on schedule. Next Sunday I will know exactly which puppy will be mine! He will arrive here around the 6th or 7th of June.
