Bear Creek Falls W/ Shane

Shane has been pestering me about taking him hiking since we met. Well, technically it was more like since we "officially" became friends. You know what I mean, facebook friends. He saw many of my pictures taken in beautiful places and insisted that I take him to as many of them as I could. So tonight we started that adventure.

I was lucky enough to get out of work early, so we packed up Bosco & headed into the Bitterroot Mountains. Since this was Shane's first hike, and b/c of the unpredictability of accessibility of hiking trails this time of year, we stuck to a beautiful trail close to home I knew we could get to easily. The trail still had a little snow/ice covering it, but was otherwise beautiful, soft, and clear. About a hundred yards before the falls we stumbled upon a mother moose & her calf. Thankfully, we were a safe distance (although mother moose didn't think so when she turned and started to charge us) and were able to watch them for a few minutes before continuing down the trail.

The falls were roaring, still heavy and swollen from the ever melting snow. We sat and enjoyed the beauty of this place before returning (a little more cautious passing through the moose sighting area) back to the Baja, and eventually home.
