The world is there for me to change, someday, somehow, I'm going to leave my mark on it.

Three
Where does the time go? It was only last week I was driving to the airport in Calgary to pick up a "little" ball of fur that would soon steal my heart, wasn't it?
He may only be a dog to every one else, but to me he's been the perfect companion.
Boscarelli turned 3 today. I took him down to the Big Dipper for his favorite ice cream to celebrate the occasion. He enjoyed being spoiled (as if it isn't a part of his daily life already). I'm already excited for the next 3 years w/ this guy.

Wisdom
I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth extracted on Friday. They've been giving me issues for years (mostly b/c two of them were partially exposed) & it was time for them to go. So I unwillingly marched myself into the oral surgeons office Friday morning & "went to sleep" for a little while. The procedure went better than expected & I was happy to return to work this morning after a long weekend of doing nothing but sleeping. I had someone take care of me while I was down & out for the first time since moving away from my parents. It was refreshing to have know I was being taken care of (even pampered a bit). g
Life has been feeling a bit mundane lately. Boring is a word that doesn't work well in my vocabulary (thanks Dad). I'm not the type that's used to working the 9-5 (esp around sick people, which can at times be quite depressing to me) all day and being a Weekend Warrior on my time off. I'm working hard to pay off all my debts as quickly as possible, which has been very gratifying, but it's also left me feeling like something is missing in my life. Like my sense of adventure that I pride myself on is struggling against my sense of responsibility (thanks again Daddio, I blame BOTH of these on you).
So I'm asking you to all share a little wisdom with me. I need something to liven up my life. Something to focus on, to sink my teeth into. Something a little out of the ordinary. I thrive on these types of things & am in desperate need of some fresh ideas. (Like I'm currently training for the half marathon in May, but I need something more to stop feeling so restless) Your wisdom (since mine was extracted on Friday) is greatly appreciated. :)

Lolo Trail from Howard Creek
I was fortunate enough to be out of work at 4:30 this afternoon. That left me with approximately three hours of good sunlight as long as another storm didn't roll in between then and nightfall.
I raced home to change into running clothes & was back in Mi Baja in under 5 minutes. Bosco & I raced towards the Bitterroot Mountains. We picked up a section of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail near Howard Creek and hit the trail running. Literally. Tonight was an "off" night in my training, so this 2 mile, 600 ft gain trail was perfect to do to enjoy without killing my legs.
Our run was beautiful, and the temperature was perfect for running. I only wish someone could of enjoyed it w/ us.

Lee Creek Trail
To hike, or not to hike? Those were the words I posted on my Facebook this morning as I looked at the weather forecast (which was rain). Within minutes, my friend Julia was on the phone asking if I wanted to get out into the woods. She hadn't even seen my Facebook post, but it looks like I had my answer.
So we decided to meet near my house and car pooled into the Lolo National Forest. We hit up the Lee Creek Trail for a 2 1/2 mile jaunt in the snow. At the top of the mountain we were greeted by clear blue skies, but we could see a storm rolling in in the distance. As soon as we reached the forest service road to take us back to Mi Baja the downpour started. Thankfully we were both prepared for the rain with our rain shells.
On our way home we stopped at Fort Fizzle. It has a funny name, how could I not stop there?
While Bosco & I were out in the woods, this is how Skyler spent her day.

Death of a Camera
Another camera down the tubes.
After an adventure this weekend (one I won't go into details to spare my mother any more gray hairs on my account) I am once again without a camera. I'm going to try and resist buying another point-&-shoot style until after I can purchase a Canon Rebel or Nikon D40. :( This is a mega sad face moment for me, but what's a girl to do? I'll keep posts as colorful as possibly in the meantime.

Every Day is a Good Day When You Run
I often see this woman running(!!) the paved trail around the hospital campus where I work as I'm pulling into the parking lot. As a developing runner & as a person, I find this woman to be a complete inspiration, & not just in running. I hope she can do the same for you...
